Dublin in green clothes: Saint Patrick's Day approaching

As Saint Patrick's Day is quickly approaching, you might consider celebrating it in Dublin. First of all, you must wonder what are the Irish celebrating on Saint Patrick's Day. Well, this is a religious celebration held each year on March 17 in honor of Saint Patrick (AD 385–461), the patron saint of Ireland. This day commemorates Saint Patrick and the arrival of Christianity in Ireland, while also celebrating the Irish culture.

If Saint Patrick’s Day catches you in Dublin, be prepared to admire the buildings and boulevards across the city illuminated in beautiful shades of green. Read more about this celebration here: https://www.ireland.com/en-us/articles/st-patricks-day/

Here are some tips about what to do during your stay in Dublin.

Most of Dublin’s museums are free of charge. So is the entrance in the campus corresponding to the famous Trinity College (https://www.tcd.ie/), the oldest university in Ireland, founded in 1592 by Queen Elizabeth I. Once you get here, do not miss the opportunity to visit the library and to see the Book of Kells, the world’s most famous early medieval manuscript (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Book_of_Kells).

You’ll love walking along the beautiful cobbled lanes of the picturesque Temple Bar district, with its chic boutiques, restaurants and pubs. Also, admire the statues spread around the city. The most famous of them is the statue of Molly Malone (one of the symbols of Dublin), placed outside of St. Andrew’s Church.

Visit Dublin Castle, erected in the early 13th century on the site of an old Viking settlement. The Castle served as the headquarters of English administration in Ireland. In 1922, after Ireland gained its independence, the Castle was handed over to the Irish government. Do no miss the 60 minutes guided tours of the State Apartments, Medieval Section and Chapel Royal (http://www.dublincastle.ie/).

You cannot leave Dublin without visiting the Guinness Storehouse Factory (https://www.guinness-storehouse.com/en), one of the most popular tourist attractions in Ireland. The factory's interior is designed to look like a pint of Guinness. A ticket to the Guinness Factory grants you a complete tour through all floors of the Factory, allowing you to find out interesting facts about the Irish brewing history and the manufacturing of Guinness beer.

For drinks, head to The Church (https://www.thechurch.ie/), one of the most beautiful bars in Dublin. The Church used to be called St. Mary’s church. It was closed in 1964 and then restored and converted into a popular bar and nightclub in 2007.
